Safety requirements at Eiffage

Safety, health and well-being is more than just a priority at Eiffage Génie Civil UK; it is a prerequisite to everything we do. This is demonstrated through our commitment to the “100% Safety” vision set out by our Infrastructures branch, and is supported by our safety, health and well-being Policy.

We operate with a human perspective, through our people living our values, to make the difference and create knowingly safe and healthy workplaces centred on delivering operational excellence and employee well-being.

To manage the safe delivery of our operations, we have established an Occupational Health and Safety Management System certified to ISO 45001:2018. This system is applied across our portfolio to ensure consistency of approach and maintain high standard of safety, health and well-being at all our locations.

The management system is consolidated by the onsite implementation of the Eiffage “20 Safety Essentials” – a simple set of rules which provide a framework for safe onsite operations. The 20 Safety Essentials are used by Eiffage’s exclusive, intelligent “SafetyForce©” app for monitoring Safety Performance.

Eiffage Génie Civil UK is committed to driving SH&W Performance and as a subsidiary of the Eiffage Infrastructures Branch promotes innovation and technology to aid us in our pursuit of “100% Safety”.

One ambition: 100% Safety

On a daily basis, the company's employees are committed to ensuring a maximum level of safety performance, from design to delivery of the works, for everyone: company employees, partners, local residents and users of the works.

100% safety

20 fundamental requirements to ensure 100% safety

The eiffage group has defined 20 fundamental requirements, based on feedback from experience. These 20 fundamental requirements apply to all personnel and all outside contractors working on behalf of the company. They cover the most frequently encountered situations and are aimed at achieving greater control over the risks involved in the work we do. Strict compliance with these 20 rules is a key element in accident prevention. They are aimed at everyone involved in a project from the organisation of the work through to its execution and inspection.

SafetyForce©

SafetyForce© is a smartphone application designed by Eiffage Infrastructures. Since 2016, "SafetyForce©" has made it possible for us to measure our safety performance across all our sites around the world in real time, by assessing the level of compliance with the “20 Safety Essentials” through a simple inspection. The app uses an algorithm to analyse the vast network of data collected and provides insights into potential risk areas by activity type and geographical location.

Ironhand® - The Robotic Glove

In 2017, Eiffage signed a partnership agreement with Bioservo Technologies to develop a robotic glove that could be suitable for the demanding construction environment. This glove was initially designed a few years ago for the medical field, and has since been used by NASA astronauts. It is able to amplify the natural strength of the hand to facilitate daily tasks.
