In Brest (29), the construction of the future bridge continues with the delivery of the steel framework
Led by the ETPO consortium, a subsidiary of the ETPO Group, in partnership with Eiffage Métal, on behalf of BMa - Brest Métropole Aménagement, the construction of the new bridge parallel to the Schuman Bridge is progressing rapidly with the delivery of the steel framework yesterday, in preparation for the launching phases. Work on the supports continues to accommodate the future bridge piers, which will rise to nearly 33 and 38 meters in height.
The steel framework was manufactured by Eiffage Métal in eastern France, at its factory in Lauterbourg (67). A meticulous manufacturing process for one of the key elements of the project, which the ETPO Group construction teams were able to observe during a visit a few weeks ago. This 1,000-ton framework, with a total length of 205 meters, will adorn and support the concrete bridge.
The visit provided a better understanding of the various stages of the framework's production in the factory and allowed for on-site quality control before its delivery.
Next step: the first launching phase at the end of this year.
