In Saint-Denis (93), the Pont des Cathédrales will replace a bridge built in 1894.

The existing bridge, built from puddled iron in 1894, had reached the end of its lifespan, and its regeneration was decided as part of SNCF Réseau's infrastructure maintenance policy.

Key stages of this unique project:

  • Installation of temporary supports and the front cantilever: From October 25, 2024
  • Installation of the new bridge: February 14–17, 2025
  • Placement of the structure on its final supports: February 21–24, 2025
  • Deck concreting and installation of the new track: March 29–30 and April 19–21, 2025
  • Dismantling of the old bridge: July 12–14, 2025

The new structure, named the "Pont des Cathédrales," will feature a deck 16.5 meters high, a 1,800-ton steel framework — manufactured at our Lauterbourg (67) plant — and will be installed via launching, with commissioning scheduled for August 2025!
